ePattern: Gathering Shells Scarf

A softly draped scarf that gathers in gentle pleats to keep you warm in style. This pattern rated easy plus. It uses e-wrap knit stitches, purls, cast ons and cast off within the pattern to create eyelets for the gathers, and increases. Stitch markers are used to make the pattern easy to follow without having to always look at the pattern, as well as other tips for making your knitting a joy.
Size: unblocked – 48 inches by 13 inches by 1 inch; blocked – 60 inches by 20 inches by 1 inch
Loom: ½ inch gauge loom with 65 pegs flat knit; may also be made on a 3/8 small gauge loom with 72 pegs (not fine pegs)
Yarn: 320 yards worsted weight yarn with a smooth texture and drape; a superwash yarn will work well for this pattern; sample made in Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted multi in Cozumel colorway
Gauge – blocked: 22 stitches and 16 rows in four inches; matching the gauge is not essential for this pattern
